About Acetic Acid Salt Spray Test

Salt spray testing is a test method where in a product or coatings resistance to corrosion is evaluated in severe corrosive conditions with extended exposure to a saline or salted spray
This testing is carried out in a closed chamber which is filled neutral salt fog with Acetic Acid / SO2 / CaCl2.
The test specimen is exposed to a predetermined time period and inspected during its exposure. This test is carried out to check the integrity of coatings, paints in a corrosive environment.This test is carried out as per ASTM G 85..
